Northern Taiwan
Northern Taiwan’s dive sites,
centered on New Taipei City’s Northeast Coast, include Longdong Bay, Bitou Cape, Chaojing Park, Guishan,
and Bat Cave.
Longdong Bay,
famous for soft corals and shipwrecks,
offers 22–28°C water and up to 15m visibility in summer.
Bitou Cape features dramatic cliffs for shore dives, while Chaojing Park’s gentle seabed and rich marine life make it ideal for beginners.

Southern Taiwan
Southern Taiwan diving,
around Kenting’s Houbi Lake and Wanlitong, features rich coral reefs and tropical fish.
Houbi Lake offers 70% coral coverage and clear waters (24–29°C),
while Wanlitong’s gentle slopes are perfect for night dives.
Diving is possible year-round, even in winter.

Taiwan’s outlying islands offer some of the best diving in the region:
Penghu
Lavender Forest coral, rich marine life & basalt rock formations.
Green Island
Big Mushroom coral (huge pore coral) + clear reefs.
Xiaoliuqiu
Frequent sea turtle sightings; great visibility in shallow waters.

Offshore Islands
Taiwan’s outlying islands each offer
unique diving experiences:
Penghu
is famous for its “underwater lavender forest”
and distinctive columnar basalt formations.
Green Island
features the massive “Big Mushroom” coral, attracting abundant fish schools.
Orchid Island
is known for its clear waters and rich coral ecosystems,
where large pelagic species like sharks and
rays are often seen.
Xiaoliuqiu
has the highest sea turtle visibility in Taiwan,
allowing divers to swim alongside them almost every dive.
The main advantage of diving around the outlying islands is excellent visibility, often over 30 meters, combined with minimal land-based pollution and well-preserved coral reefs, making them a dream destination for advanced divers.
