Pre-Departure Guidelines

Pre-Departure Guidelines

I. Itinerary Notes

  1. Group Size: This tour requires a minimum of 16 passengers and accommodates up to 36. A licensed Taiwanese tour leader will accompany the group.

  2. Special Diets (e.g., vegetarian): Overseas group meals may lack the variety and flexibility of those in Taiwan. We recommend bringing canned food or instant noodles as backup.

  3. Solo Travelers: Hotel and train accommodations are based on double occupancy. Solo travelers will be paired with a same-gender roommate or tour leader. Due to train cabin constraints and cost considerations, single occupancy is not available.

  4. Special Room Requests (e.g., specific room type, floor, non-adjacent/connecting rooms): We will convey requests to hotels but cannot guarantee availability. Confirmation is subject to check-in.

  5. Military Conscripts: Must obtain exit permits from relevant authorities.

  6. Non-Taiwanese Passport Holders: Itinerary terms apply primarily to ROC passport holders. Those with dual citizenship or foreign passports must verify entry requirements independently and inform our staff in advance.

  7. Punctuality: Please adhere to all group assembly times.

  8. No Deviation During Tour: For safety reasons, deviations from the group itinerary are not permitted. If this restricts your travel needs, we recommend selecting a independent tour package.

  9. Itinerary Adjustments: To maintain quality and safety, the sequence of activities may be rearranged based on local conditions (accommodations, transportation, etc.). Final arrangements will be provided in the pre-departure briefing. In cases of force majeure (e.g., traffic, natural disasters), adjustments may be made for safety and smooth operation.

  10. Admission Tickets: All included tickets are group rates. No refunds or discounts apply for seniors, children, or special-status individuals.

  11. Local Vendors: Note that restaurants, rest stops, and scenic sites in mainland China may sell local products (e.g., silk, calligraphy, tea). These are not designated shopping stops.

  12. Cultural Preparedness: We advise adapting to local customs and learning about the environment in advance for a smoother experience.

  13. High-Speed Rail Security: Per Chinese regulations, dangerous items (e.g., knives, firearms, ammunition) are prohibited in carry-on or checked luggage on high-speed trains. Violations may result in fines, detention, or confiscation. Any losses incurred are the passenger’s responsibility.

  14. Travel Documents: Use your ROC passport for Taiwan exit/entry. For China entry, present a valid Taiwan Compatriot Permit.

  15. Document Check: Verify all documents in your passport folder upon receipt. Notify the tour leader of any discrepancies.

  16. Prohibited Activities: Engaging in prostitution or carrying fruits/meat products across borders is strictly forbidden. To maintain a harmonious atmosphere, avoid discussing political topics.

II. Flight & Luggage

  1. Check-In: Arrive at the airport 2–3 hours before departure to allow time for procedures.

  2. Assistance: Our tour leader or staff will assist with check-in and baggage drop at the group counter.

  3. Baggage Allowance: Varies by airline and cabin class. Please refer to airline announcements for details

  5. Seating: Group seating is assigned by airlines and cannot be pre-selected. Requests (e.g., window/aisle) are not guaranteed, and companions may be separated. Our leader will assist where possible.

III. Hotel Accommodations

  1. Hotel Selection: We retain final rights to choose hotels of equivalent grade.

  2. Room Types: Default occupancy is twin beds. Requests for double beds or extra beds are subject to hotel availability.

  3. Smoking: Most hotels prohibit indoor smoking. Fines for violations are the guest’s responsibility.

  4. Electric Kettles: Provided for boiling water only. Do not add any substances (e.g., coffee, tea, food).

  5. Facilities Usage: Consult staff before using unfamiliar equipment to avoid damage or safety risks.

  6. Electrical Safety: Avoid multi-plug adapters to prevent overload.

  7. Pool Safety: Do not enter pools outside open hours or alone.

  8. Mini-Bar Items: Snacks and beverages in rooms are chargeable. Settle payments at checkout.

  9. Eco-Friendly Practices: Some mainland hotels do not provide disposable toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, etc.). Bring personal toiletries and slippers.

  10. Hotel Ratings in Mainland China:

    • Hotels are rated by stars (5-star highest, 1-star lowest).

    • "Quasi-Star" (e.g., "Quasi 5-Star") indicates new hotels awaiting formal rating after a trial year or unrated hotels built to star-level standards.

IV. Safety Guidelines

  1. Follow Instructions: Adhere to all announcements by the tour leader. Inform staff when going out during free time.

  2. Health Precautions: Those pregnant or with chronic conditions (e.g., heart disease, hypertension) should avoid strenuous activities (e.g., water sports, hot springs).

  3. Water Safety: Wear life jackets when boating or near water. Stay within safe zones.

  4. Valuables: Keep passports, funds, and valuables secure and on your person. Avoid displaying large sums of cash.

  5. Medications: Bring routine medicines (e.g., for stomach, colds, motion sickness). Carry documentation for prescription drugs.
