Slender West Lake

Located in Nanjing's Muyan Riverside Scenic Area, Damo Ancient Cave is a cultural site perched on a steep cliff overlooking the Yangtze River. According to legend, Bodhidharma, the founder of Chan Buddhism, rested here over 1,600 years ago on his way to Shaolin Temple.

The cave features 101 unique bronze statues of Bodhidharma, along with seven bronze reliefs depicting Buddhist stories—all crafted from 250 tons of bronze. The three-level cave complex offers winding paths through a serene blend of natural scenery and Zen culture.
